CrackerJack is an online recruitment platform aimed at simplifying the recruitment process, for both employer and jobseeker.
For employers this means taking the stress out of recruiting for new roles. Once registered, they will have access to their candidate wall which will contain all the algorithm-matched jobseekers based on skills, experience and expertise. With one-click, employers will be able to invite all the jobseekers on their wall to apply for the roles they are recruiting for. Interviews are also made easier. Employers can send a pre-recorded video interview containing questions that jobseekers would need to answer, taking the stress out of face-to-face interviewing and creating less interview hassle for companies.
For jobseekers, this creates more opportunity to get noticed and not be just another unnoticed number. Once registered, jobseeker’s profiles will be matched to specific companies based on skills, experience and qualifications and placed on their candidate walls. As a school leaver, graduate or freelancer, the algorithm will place you on the candidate wall of every relevant company where you could gain work experience or be employed, giving you access to more opportunities. You’ll also be able to create a 60-second or less profile video about instead of relying only on written information to get noticed.
For employers, it’s to help them find and connect with the best candidates easier, faster and at a more realistic price. For jobseekers, it’s to ensure that everyone has the chance to have their résumé get in front of a real employer.
CrackerJack’s founder and CEO, Hennie du Toit, has a background in Law covering Debt and Equity Capital Markets. He’s worked as a consultant lawyer advising major banks in London’s Canary Wharf on complex structured products, debt instruments and capital markets transactions listed on the world’s primary stock exchanges. He has first-hand experience around the challenges of the hiring process.
“When I first came to London, I remember how difficult it was to find a job, fulltime, part time or even just projects. It felt like there were so many opportunities, but nobody wanted to give you a chance. I just couldn’t break into the market. Recruiters had every excuse why I was not right for a position. Eventually, I was lucky and got a break, being at the right place at the right time, with a law firm who was able to spot my skills from my CV. Since then I’ve never looked back. When I started consulting for the major banks in the city, I also noted the challenges around hiring the right candidates. Somehow, opportunities never reached the right candidates or just a limited few. The result was that massive amount of time, effort and money was being wasted on the wrong candidates. I felt that there had to be a way to reach more candidates that have the potential to do the job. This was when I knew something had to change. I decided to create CrackerJack.”
